Our Offida Pecorino DOC Colle Vecchio 2010 has been awarded the highest possible recognition in the
“Guida Ais [Italian sommeliers association] – Bibenda Duemilavini 2012": the 5 grapes rating.
We earned this rating, which fills us with pride, for the vintage of rather difficult times:
Guido Cocci Grifoni, whom many of you have met, passed away in July 2010, a short time before the grape harvest.
The loss of Guido thus left a void not only within his family, but also in the company.
He founded the winery and, over the years, inspired its wines and re-discovered and promoted the Pecorino grape variety.
AIS’ recognition highlights how Tenuta Cocci Grifoni was able to remain united and cohesive during these times of transition.
The award therefore recognises those who, within and without the company, support our efforts through their work and their trust.
We thank you all for having helped us build upon Guido Cocci Grifoni's teachings in such an outstanding fashion.
We believe that close bonding and strong commitment can inspire remarkable actions.
Only by adhering to fundamental values and to quality shall we obtain a top
level product fully capable of meeting the challenges that the market puts before us.
