Wij feliciteren de mensen van Casanova di Neri met deze geweldig mooie prijs. Wij zijn er trots op dat wij de wijnen van Casanova di Neri al vanaf het begin in ons assortiment hebben. Uiteraard wil iedereen deze wijnen nu bestellen, maar helaas was deze wijn afgelopen zomer op het domein al volledig uitverkocht. Maar ook hun andere wijnen zijn van zeer hoge kwaliteit. Bijvoorbeeld
de Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto 1999, behoort, volgens de Gambero Rosso tot de 10 beste wijnen van Italië. En ook hun gewone Brunello haalt jaar op jaar drie rode glassjes in de Gambero Rosso. Kortom een van de allerbeste producenten van Montalcino.

Each year, Wine Spectator editors survey the wines we've reviewed over the past 12 months and select the most exciting for our Top 100.

In 2006, we reviewed nearly 13,500 wines from around the world in blind tastings. Nearly 3,000 of them earned outstanding ratings (90 points or higher on our 100-point scale). Thirteen countries are represented in our 2006 list, making this the most diverse group in the history of the Top 100, which debuted in 1988. The average score of the group is 93 points, while the average price is $49. We hope our selections stimulate discussion, and lead people to a deeper engagement with the world of wine

This family-run winery is one of the best examples of the recent winemaking renaissance in Tuscany. Casanova di Neri has excelled with Brunello di Montalcino, the region's famous Sangiovese-based red, since its debut vintage in 1993. The 2001 is its best Tenuta Nuova ever, delivering the depth, richness, freshness and unique character expected of such a great vintage—at a price in the mid-range for 2001 Brunello.
